A Leap Of Faith {A Retreat And A Giveaway}

A Leap Of Faith {A Retreat And A Giveaway}

On March 10th, 2011, I started blogging at Always Alleluia. From that moment, to now, God has taken me to the depths of the valley, and up to the mountain tops–each in their season,–it’s been a wild ride ride. I have met so many beautiful people–friends along the way and am continually humbled and awed by God”s amazing love for His people–by His love for me.

Now, these years later, I have moved. Because God is moving me. Many writers blog under their own names, often when they have a contract in hand for a book in order to help grow their brand and build their platform.

Right now, I do not have a book contract in hand, and platforms?–I still have a hard time with that word,  because I’m not about platforms, I’m about people. But I did move to blogging under my own name because God is re-writing my story, and He’s allowing me to proclaim it.

He’s teaching me obedience, and trust, and as God sifts His healing hands through every corner of my life, I am re-discovering Him. I’ve been writing this all down on the blog for the last (nearly) 3 years, and after nearly 600 posts (!!!) and a book, God is leading me to new places.

I’m writing it all down, friends. Every blessed word He gives me. Every truth that He impresses upon my heart, I’m writing down the revelation–for generations to come:

Then the Lord replied:

“Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it.
For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come
and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:1-3 NIV)

Last February, I released Holey, Wholly, Holy, which is essentially a series of revelations God gave me through His refining experience. And God?–He took that crazy, supposed, little eBook and turned it onto something else entirely.

Before I knew it, He opened doors and hearts and that little thing traveled the globe and found it’s way into hearts and churches all around the world. All around the world, people. It further than I never imagined. But God did.

 This is His story friends, and I want others to know it. Always Alleluia still defines my heart–more so than ever. Though the blog is shifting, my heart for gratitude bulges all the more.

A couple of months after the book’s release I was knock-down, bone-weary-burnt. I craved a retreat and so I began researching them.

I wanted quiet.

A space to think.

I wanted a total, non-conference experience.

As I sat on my bed praying about this, God whispered in my heart, that I wasn’t the only one who wanted this–He said there were others who did too.

I listened for His word. I prayed and I waited.

And then–I began planning a retreat, like the one I was craving. But not just for me.

This one?–It’s for you.

I’m currently writing the workbook for Holey Wholly Holy. (It should be ready by mid Fall.) Then, next April, during Lent, Refine {the retreat}   will happen. 40 women will join me, Teri Lynne Underwood and More Than Rubies (Christa Wells and Nicole Witt) for what promises to be an unforgettable retreat.

This is a God-sized dream, friends–one I didn’t even know about. Only His doing.

So today, I want to celebrate all that God is doing. This new space is a better reflection of the new story He’s writing in me. You all have faithfully supported me through all of my various seasons and for that I am deeply grateful.

    Wow! What an inspiration – it is great to hear that whisper, that must have seemed so big and impossible at the time come to fruition. I am at the beginning of that whisper still full of doubt and “Who me?” questions. This post and your courage has encouraged me and made me smile and think well yes maybe me with God. God has whispered and Oh yes he can bring anything to fruition. Well done – it sounds amazing – Will be holding you in prayer as you turn your attentions to the work book and preparations for the retreat 🙂

    1. Tania, it can be hard to listen to the whispers, but I continue to learn the fruitfulness of doing so. He can bring anything to fruition, I’ve seen Him do it. Thank you for your prayers!! Praying for you as well!

I made that leap a few months ago, too, and even though it felt a little weird at first, I grew into it, and it’s good. And finally, the Retreat!! Wow, wow, wow – that sounds SO good. I love your leaping, your bravery, your faith. You inspire me, girl!

    1. Thank you, Michelle, It does feel a little weird to be all, “I’m a dot.com” but then again, it’s always been me… I believe the retreat WILL be good, not because of anything I’m doing but because so far, God has paved the way, opening doors left and right to make it happen. I am excited to see where He’ll lead next!! Pray about coming? It would be so awesome to see you there!

    1. WHAT is He doing?? It all feels so overwhelming but maybe that’s because this is beyond me. This is all His doing, and so I am just here, watching it all, taking it in, praising Him for His goodness. So thankful you’re here with me!! (and maybe THERE with me?–pray about it! )

This is truly where I feel the Lord leading and only He knows what it will look like as it unfolds. Pray for me, would you, that I’d lean in, and listen, that I’d not be moved from the vision He has given. Thank you!! And perhaps you will pray about attending? 😉
