A Q&A About The Next Big Thing

My friend Amy, tagged me the other day in her post about what she’s been writing offline. It was fun to peek in behind the curtain. Amy’s got a lot going on, and I can’t wait to see where God takes her. Amy’s post is a link in this blog chain called “The Next Big thing“. The purpose of this chain is to tell a little about what project(s) you’re working on and why. Below I have listed the questions, followed by my answers.

What is your working title of your book? Right now, I’m working on my Lenten ebook entitled,  Holey, Wholly, Holy: A Lenten journey of Refinement.

Where did the idea come from for the book? The idea for this book has been brewing for a long time, but finally came together as a result  of my own intense refining experience last Lent.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Holey, Wholly, Holy examines the true heart behind the Lenten season and offers encouragement and direction for those facing the refining fires on their journey to becoming Holy.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? This book is my first eBook and is all homegrown.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? I’ve been writing this book for probably 8 months, first in my journal, and in my head and finally on screen.

Who or what inspired you to write this book? It may sound cliche, but the truth is, this book is an act of obedience. I’m writing it because I felt deep in my spirit that I needed to.

What if you don’t understand or “do”  Lent? I’ve had many people who tell me that they don’t really understand Lent. The funny thing is, I grew up “practicing” Lent and didn’t really understand it either until last year. This book will appeal to both people who are familiar with the challenging season of Lent, as well as those who are new to the experience. I like to think of it as a companions guide to Lent.

*whew* That felt a little like a test. So, now I’m tagging the following 5 people who hopefully, will join me in sharing a little about their current project (s):

  1. Excited for you! I’m sure the book is lovely, and never having really delved into Lent, I’m excited to read what you have to say about it!
    Have a lovely weekend, Kris!
