Because He Delights In You~ {Link-up}

It happened so quickly, I could have missed in the chaos of kids and kitchen timers beeping– but I didn’t.

Not this time. He made His presence known.

Bending to slide the cookies into the hot oven, He showed up for a split second. Maybe less than a second, He revealed Himself in the tiniest, strangest way.

Only a month or so ago, my chest heaved and burned with the words words of Isaiah 62:5. Overwhelmed by the refining fires and the state of my mishapen heart those words pricked, rather than comforted.

And here, this wild day of baking cookies and trying to school children, He shows himself long enough for me to feel His smile at me. How do you describe the feeling of an invisible smile? Warm. Gentle. Sudden joy.  It sounds absurd, but yet the moment was so real. His presence so strongly felt, as a puff of air, or a flash of light that comes and passes in an instant. I don’t know how to describe it other than that–I know that’s what it was–He smiled at me.

It’s just over month out from one of the most difficult seasons I’ve endured spiritually, and I’ve made peace with Him in so many ways, and this invisible smile, this split-second gift enforces the words that just weeks ago made me want to hide in a cave,  underground–in the dark.

The Lord delights in you–

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. Isaiah 62:5

He delights in YOU.

Isn’t that amazing?

He’s writing a different story with me these days.

Lets celebrate!

Last month I hosted my first ever link-up. You all humbled me with your willingness to participate. I had several people ask me if I’d do it monthly,
So, here it is.

  • link up your favorite post from the previous month
  •  share some encouragement for the person (ot two!) who links up before you.
  • Add the button to your post

Easy enough, right?

What story is He writing in your life right now? I’d love to hear about it!

Let’s have some fun- show me what you’ve got!

Hi – I don’t have a blog so can’t link but just wanted to let you know how you have been a part of my story :) A few months ago I commented on one of posts (about waiting, I think. It might have been on (in)courage) about how I was waiting to become pregnant after a miscarriage. You prayed for me which was so sweet. I then discovered I had hyperthyroid which is now under control and I am now 15 weeks pregnant! Thanks so much for your prayers xx Rosie

Oh, I know this place so well. And when He comes to meet us. Yes, this is where I get to feel the most loved. I know we receive His love by faith — but sometimes truly knowing He is there and sensing His Presence, I get to “feel” loved. Do you know what I mean?

    Journeying with you, with love,

    Michele-Lyn

I grew up within the church, and I know my Bible inside and out. But somehow, this concept of God’s delight in me escaped me for many, many years. And it is such a beautiful, powerful, life-giving truth.

Thanks for hosting this link-up. Blessings.

    • alwaysalleluia

Nancy- it IS such a life-giving truth, I love the way you put that. I had lost this concept for so many years, sort of like a slow leak down a drain. I hadn’t realized it until I hit the bottom and it was bone-dry. How graciously he restores and fills us…. thank YOU my friend, for linking up and sharing your wisdom. Grateful for you!

These moments are so hard to describe, and yet you did so beautifully. It’s only in the last year or so that I’ve started to grasp the depth of God’s love for me – and it is life changing. Thanks for hosting the link-up!

    • alwaysalleluia

Life changing. Yes, that’s it. Thank you for joining us here!

  • Lolita Valle

Wow, what kind of love is that? He declared His holy presence to you while at a hot over, bending to retrieve a tray of cookies delight.

Thanks for this one. I will be on my alert for my own signals too. It would be great. Because He really can put a smile on our lips in the midst of full hands and crammed up time.

GBU and thanks for the link-up

    • alwaysalleluia

Oh yes! Keep watching! I think we miss it so often when He speaks. Bless you! Thanks for joining us and linking up!

Yes, Lisa. This is the first time I have ever experienced that. It was startling, amazing and filling–healing even. Such a treasured gift. Thanks for reading, sweet friend!

Yes, I once was told by God that it makes him laugh when I dance with my dog. :) He does delight in us.
