My kids are fans of the Adventures In Odyssey Imagination Station book series. We have enjoyed reading the first 11 books in the series, and this latest one, Hunt For The Devil’s Dragon did not disappoint.
Hunt For The Devil’s Dragon begins in the middle of the action, as Beth and Patrick stumble into a city that is struggling to defend itself against a dragon that regularly scarfs up the local sheep. The only appeasing of this dragon comes by way of maiden sacrifice, and when Beth steps in to save a young girl, she and Patrick discover that there is another enemy at work here, and it’s worse than they imagined.
This book is fast paced, and engaging. The lead characters are interesting, and marked with integrity and bravery. Hunt For The Devil’s Dragon isn’t only about a dragon, the characters in the book confront the issue of bullying, and learn about standing up for what’s right even when it’s scary to do so.
The Imagination Station series do a wonderful job of encouraging children in their faith, through the art of storytelling. Christian values are exemplified and the battle of good versus evil is clear-cut. Of all of the Imagination Station books we have read, this one seems to be the favorite so far. My boys (ages 9 and 7) loved it.
